2009 Michigan State Fair
The Michigan State Fair Committee contacted the Michigourders again this year, requesting we do gourd demonstrations. So we packed up our gourds, tools, samples and seeds, and headed off to explaining gourd crafting to the visitors at the fair. Over the two weekends we were there we gave our over 250 gourd seed packets, handed out applications and information, to hundreds of people. We hope we will be able to do this again next year!

Michigourders are planning on having our own vendors booth to sell our gourds as well as entering the competition.

This September we will be participating in the first ever Festival of Gourds being held in Imlay City.
Now that three of our members are certified Master Judges, we will be judging the first competition at the festival and maybe even doing a judges training to certify new judges (you must be a member of the American Gourd Society to take this class)

As of yet, Ohio and Illinois have not posted their state show dates but keep checking in here and I’ll post them as
I get them. Or you can look at the American Gourd Society site for information on all the state chapters and shows.
